There are many different ways to be involved with the works of Centro Emanuel Missions. The activities in El Salvador have been ongoing for over 25 years, since the mid-1990’s. We would love to have you utilize your talents for the people of El Salvador in any of the areas in which we serve.
Evangelism The El Salvador Mission Support ministry began in 1995 and strives to equip all missionaries that we support (financially or otherwise) to make disciples who make disciples or plant new churches. We are dedicated to helping every Salvadoran to have the opportunity to obey the gospel, our strategic plan vision for the discipling work in El Salvador. We offer support in a variety of ways including financial, training, and encouragement to indigenous evangelists. Centro Emanuel Missions’ involvement spans the country, from San Miguel in the eastern zone to Santa Ana in the western zone, and the area around the capital San Salvador in the central zone. We are currently partnering with a group of about sixty disciple-makers and more than twenty different churches across the country. All the disciple-making strategy is coordinated through Genesis Alliance, a DFW-based training organization headed by Sixto Rivera, a native Salvadoran. Genesis Alliance is charged with implementing disciple-making methodology and training disciples who make other disciples throughout El Salvador.
Discipling
The El Salvador Discipling Ministry strives to identify and equip discipleship team leaders to make disciples who make disciples or plant new churches. Currently, Centro Emanuel Missions partners with Genesis Alliance (www.genalliance.org). We have charged Genesis Alliance with implementing disciple-making methodologies across El Salvador. In order to accomplish this, Genesis Alliance holds seminar training for selected disciple-makers (including evangelists, some spouses, and young professionals) from all parts of El Salvador.
Centro Emanuel Missions has a working relationship with more than twenty different churches, the large majority of which are church plants we helped to initiate. All potential disciple-makers receive training and regular encouragement through Genesis Alliance as well as support when needed in crisis situations.
Scholarships Our involvement with education began in 1997 with the sponsorship of six children of a family whose mother had recently died of cancer and whose father was an alcoholic and rarely at home. We currently sponsor more than 160 students, and at least 40 of them are continuing their studies at the university.
The money provided by the sponsors provides the students with necessities such as food, clothing, and medical care. It also allows them to stay in school and finish their education. Many of these families live on less than $3,000/year.
In addition to these basic necessities, the money that university students receive helps to pay for their tuition and other expenses. Sponsors receive a profile sheet with the student’s picture and information about the student and his/her family.
From children who are barely surviving, to high school or university graduates, sponsorship can make such a difference in a student’s life. It allows them to get a business-related job and become an important and impactful part of Salvadoran society.
Medical After consultation with 2 doctors in Ciudad Real and hearing from local evangelists of the need for basic healthcare, a medical missions ministry was begun in 2019. On that trip and subsequent trips, many community members were seen and given medical care from local doctors who donated their services. Some of them were graduates from the Education Program. In 2023, we were able to hold clinics at San Miguel and Cojutepeque as well. Basic healthcare needs were attended to as well as dental and vision needs. At each clinic, the patients were connected with the local church ministry.
Facilities The Centro Emanuel facility lies five minutes from the Pan American Highway essentially an equal distance from both San Miguel in the East and Santa Ana in the west, where we have numerous partner churches. It is in a secure, secluded, and safe area and contains almost an acre of land, with ¾ of the area available for future development. There is a spacious main meeting room area, living quarters, water storage and exterior landscaping. The land is heavily wooded with numerous fruit trees and slopes down to a dry creek-bed providing scenic beauty and ambiance. A new dormitory that sleeps 36 has been constructed, and additional parking and other improvements are underway.
