Scholarship Program

Our involvement with the program began in 1996 with a partnership with the Christian Relief Fund to sponsor six children of a family whose mother had recently died of cancer and whose father was an alcoholic and rarely at home.

In 2004, we stablished the Milagro de Jesus University Scholarship Program, so that students could continue their education at the university level.

In 2018, we established our own Christian Education Program, enabling us to work directly through evangelists to identify students with both leadership potential and need. We currently sponsor more than 160 students, and at least 44 of them are continuing their studies at the university. The money provided by the sponsors provides the students with necessities such as food, clothing, and medical care. It also allows them to stay in school and finish their education. Many of these families live on less than $3,000/year. In addition to these basic necessities, the money that university students receive helps to pay for their tuition and other expenses. Sponsors receive a profile sheet with the student’s picture and information about the student and his/her family.

From children who are barely surviving, to high school or university graduates, sponsorship can make such a difference in a student’s life. It allows them to get a business-related job and become an important and impactful part of Salvadoran society.

Milagro de Jesus University Scholarship Program

In 2004, Milagro de Jesús Sandoval, a recognized youth leader in El Salvador, passed away, and a university scholarship program was established in her honor.  For $60 per month, sponsors have permitted many students to complete university education in their chosen field of study.

Some of those areas include: Mechanical, engineering, medicine, nursing, accounting, pharmacy/chemistry, law, math education, clinical laboratory, systems engineering, English, social work, marketing, communications, industrial engineering, computer science/networking, journalism & audio-visual communication.

Since 2013, the following students have graduated and received a degree in their chosen field:

  • Elmer Daniel Campos del Cid, accounting
  • Asunción del Carmen Melgar Calderón, nursing
  • María Ruíz, elementary education
  • Stefanie Gutiérrez, medicine (cardiology)
  • Katherine Eloisa Velásquez Pérez, nursing
  • Marcela Natalia Perdomo Ramírez, marketing
  • Erika Lissette Mejía Martínez, nursing
  • Bianca Leticia Zelaya, law

One of these graduates, Elmer Daniel Campos del Cid, was hired in January 2025, to work as a full-time evangelist at Monte San Juan, in Cojutepeque. He partners with Alexander & Beatríz Yacón to minister to the community in that area.

After graduation, these successful and important members of Salvadoran society will strive to give back to their community by helping future students to pursue their education in the university. Some of the program students & Christian families in Ciudad Real have been working together, each giving $5/month to help support other students in that community.
